Our 12-week Teen On Camera Acting Certificate is the perfect way to get started.

Students will be introduced to all aspects of acting for film, tv and commercials, while building confidence on and off camera.

Our Youth and Teen On Camera Acting Certificate program is designed to accommodate beginners and aspiring young actors between ages of 10-14 and 15-18, who are interested in having fun with acting, as well as those interested in breaking into Film & TV.

The first two weeks are about getting students comfortable with being on camera. The focus is on slating, commercials and improv while learning about cheating the shot, eyelines and finding stillness on camera.

Once completed, the focus turns to scene work. Students will work on a new scene each week, starting with smaller scenes and working their way to full scenes, which will be worked on for their final demo reels. Students will be on camera each week and learning from instructor feedback and by observing others.

A range of different character types and writing will be explored during the course. Each week will focus on a different aspect of a scene and character work. Students will learn character analysis using methods and techniques developed by Uta Hagen; objectives, relationships, script analysis, moving on camera, and rooting their performance in naturalism and continuity.

The final three weeks of the course, students will work on creating their demo reels consisting of two contrasting scenes, which can be sent to agents when applying for representation.

"VADA alumni are often seen at my auditions, and the confidence they have acquired through their training never fails to set them apart from the crowd when it comes to booking the job. Talent may be something an actor is born with, but confidence and professionalism are learned. VADA is an excellent place to learn these skills."
