Student Support & Services
At Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts (VADA), we are committed to supporting our students both inside and outside the classroom. The following services and resources are available to all students, including international students, before arrival, during their studies, and on an ongoing basis.
Housing Support
VADA does not offer on-campus housing; however, we provide guidance and resources to help students find safe and appropriate accommodation in Vancouver.
Students are supported with:

- Short-term housing options upon arrival (Airbnb, VLE Accommodations)

- Avoiding rental scams
- Budgeting for housing and cost of living during the admissions interview
Health, Safety & Mental Health Support
Student well-being is a priority at VADA. Students are provided with information and referrals to:
- Public healthcare services in British Columbia
- Mental health support resources such as Here2Talk and Foundry BC
- Emergency services (dial 911 in urgent situations
Naloxone & Overdose Awareness
- Free Naloxone kits are available at pharmacies across British Columbia
- Students are informed about overdose prevention and response
- Training resources are available through BC health authorities
Academic & Program Progression Support
Students receive:
- In-class coaching and instruction
- Performance-based feedback
- Additional support from Admissions Team for propackage preparation
Learning Support Services
VADA provides ongoing academic and career guidance, including:
- Instructor feedback and mentorship
- One-on-one student support meetings (Admissions Team Office)
- Guidance on program progression and performance development (Admissions Team Office)
Community Integration
Students are supported in connecting with the local community and industry through:
- Exposure to Vancouver’s film and television industry
- Networking opportunities
- Workshops and showcases
- Guidance on professional organizations such as UBCP/ACTRA
Daily Life in Vancouver
Students are provided with information to help them settle into daily life, including:
- Public transportation (TransLink system: https://www.translink.ca/)
- Opening a bank account
- Mobile phone and communication services
- Cost of living guidance
