Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts offers a variety of courses to suit your acting needs. If you feel confident, but you know there are areas where you need to improve or revamp your skills, then consider taking some courses or certificates.

Our Acting Courses

Intro to Acting: PACE 1
A great choice for beginners or those people with a theatre background who are looking to break into the Film & TV industry.
On Camera Acting Intensive Certificate
Similar to the Intro to Acting Certificate, however this program is a full-time, two week intensive course for beginners as well as serious actors to immerse themselves in.
On Camera Audition
This course is geared towards helping actors perfect their audition technique by taping their cold audition pieces, reviewing and critiquing them.
Professional Actor Development Program
This class helps actors manage their careers through goal setting, keeping statistics of progress, and understanding obstacles that hold them back.
Ongoing Scene Study
This is a course for Certificate or Dramatic Arts Program Diploma Graduates (or those with previous film & tv training).

The tools and techniques that you are taught are invaluable to honing your acting skills and developing your career. Attention and time are given to each actor to ensure that they receive the most out of their experience and become more confident in their abilities. Very interesting classes. I joined the school to do pace 1 - intro to acting. Going on to do pace 2 as well due to there being a different teacher which can really help you learn from different people. Al Mero teacher of pace 1. Takes a lot of time to help you and really listens to you. Lessons are fun! And I have really enjoyed going! Can't wait for pace 2!read more

I have taken multiple classes here (most recently the Ongoing Scene Study) and it is possibly the best place you can get your training! The staff are friendly and professional and the coaches are knowledgeable and help you in any way they can. Al Miro is great at coaching, he will push you to your potential knowing before you do what you are capable of. You just feel like family here! Highly recommended!read more

Loved taking the PACE 1 class here. Al has such a great way of pushing everyone at their levels and making the class feel so judgement free. Everyone at the studio has been so friendly and welcoming, can't recommend it enough.

A great place to start your training! I've taken part-time Pace 1 & 2 and Ongoing Scene Study. The staff are friendly and encouraging and there's a sense of community (rather than competition) among the students. Most of my classes have been with Al Miro - who is a fantastic coach and teacher. I highly recommend his scene study class!read more

I found this school online and I saw the awesome reviews. Then I got more positive feedback from my roommate who took the full Diploma a few years ago. So I decided to try out their Intro to Acting (PACE 1) and I love it! Our teacher's knowledge and experience is excellent and his coaching is on point and helps with raising the confidence and believing in oneself. Will be going for the full Diploma in September! I really love this school, you learn a great deal. But let me tell you why. Before coming here I did my research, I saw the reviews and read up about the school. I liked what I was reading but still being unsure I phoned the school to get more info. In the phone call I was able to get my questions answered instantly and I felt very confident with wanting to come to the school. Now having been at the school I can say that it truly is an amazing experience. The teachers here give you great feedback and personalized recommendations for how you could do better. The teachers do all that they can to make sure that every one of us is doing the best that we can do to be working actors. They push us to the best of our abilities, not sugar coating anything. We learn to critique our work and not judge it based off of the way we look. The best part about the school is that the teachers and the staff are working actors so we get first hand experience from those who are currently in the business. I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to be a working actor. It has been a really amazing time studying here, I will be coming back again to continue learning and improving as an actor.read more
