8-Week Intro to Acting: PACE 1 Program in Vancouver, BC
PACE 1 stands for Pro Actor Core Essentials 1. PACE 1 is an Intro to Acting class for beginners (or those with a theatre background who are looking to cross over into film and television). This class introduces actors to the professional level of on-camera acting. This is where you learn VADA’s techniques and basics for all areas of film and TV acting. Missing out on this foundation can stunt your growth in our more advanced classes or leave holes in your training, so it is essential that you start with the fundamentals.
This class will give you a taste of what it takes to be a professional actor. We start with audition etiquette, commercial auditions and on-camera cold reads while building you up to larger actor roles for film and television over the 8 weeks. You will also get an introduction to scene study, where you will practice getting into characters and exploring emotions using script analysis techniques. These scenes are filmed to show proper camera techniques as well as technical aspects of acting on camera. Graduates of this course will come away feeling much more comfortable acting on camera.
Once you have completed this course, you are eligible to continue on to Intro to Acting: PACE 2 where you will expand upon the techniques and skills learned in PACE 1 including a more in-depth look at scene study and how to get an agent.
