Simon Longmore is a true product of Vancouver's creative film boom. Simon has dedicated himself to acting and the mediums to which it is broadcast for since 1984. Involved in acting in his early teens Simon knew immediately that acting was his calling. Once out of High School his main focus was to pursue the dream of becoming a professional performance artist, thus attending a two year diploma program at the short lived, FTS (Film and Theatre School).
Simon has been teaching acting for fifteen years and has coached over 5000 actors. In 2000 he founded Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he currently resides as the Artistic Director. The studio is based on his knowledge from 26 years experience as an actor and Longmore's ideology uses a method he calls "The Approach". The success of his teaching is simply measured by the outrageous success of his students! In 1993 Simon joined efforts with other local talent and began to teach acting. For 7 years this company of four men created an acting studio called AWA (Actors Working Academy). During that time Simon explored all types of performance, musical theatre, film, TV, commercial, live theatre, radio, voice over, writing, directing, film making while making use of his 'innately gifted' funny bone. In 2000 Simon left the AWA and started his own studio, VADA (Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts). Simon has trained actors from all over the globe. His talents are in demand as a top Vancouver Acting Coach. He is referred to repeatedly as the "go to" coach by Casting Directors in Canada and the U.S., as well as top agencies across the country. Simon's ability to pull the best performance out of his clients never fails. Using his personal down-to- earth approach, Simon is able to keenly coax the best performance from any artist. His more notable students have been:
Additionally many other past student actors have gotten coverage in newspapers, major magazines, internet, radio, and television. |
