Dramatic Arts Program
Our Dramatic Arts Program (DAP) is a very emotional and intense six month full-time course. Its purpose is to give students a solid foundation of acting principles. It is designed to challenge actors to achieve their highest potential. Tools learned range from script analysis, character research, audition skills and scene work to improvisation, voice, movement/body, and on-camera techniques which will all be needed for your demo reel project.
“Vada has helped me gain the skills to be confident. Now I can follow my dream and work as an actor.”

The kid was greener than the corn fields of Manitoba, and he had a lot of questions. I did my best to answer them. Then he asked me “...

Sept 2014 ~ I grew up in my high school theatre. Upon graduating, I knew that I would pursue an acting career. I first met Vada at a career fair. After some deliberation, I eventually chose them due, in most part, to Natasha. Her kind, light-hearted personality coupled with a curriculum based on the business side of acting as well as the typical tools (i.e. movement, improvisation etc.) really sold me on the school. I am now in my third week of my six month journey. Already, I see my peers as a community, if not a family. The teachers are personable, knowledgeable and a lot of fun. I’m very excited to see what the rest of the program will bring me, and what I can do after the end of the course.
In the dealings that I have had with Simon and VADA, there has always been an essence of professionalism. They set the standard to which all others look to attain. The talent that is produced by VADA is easily comparable to talent located outside of Canada. I often see talent that has trained at VADA compete for jobs in the American movie market. Training at this studio will only help your career.

VADA alumni are often seen at my auditions, and the confidence they have acquired through their training never fails to set them apart from the crowd when it comes to booking the job. Talent may be something an actor is born with, but confidence and professionalism are learned. Simon Longmore’s VADA is an excellent place to learn these skills.

Simon Longmore and the Vancouver Academy of Dramatic Arts offer an impressive curriculum for the beginning as well as the professional actor. I have found my experiences with the actors at the Academy to be extremely positive. The caliber of student and the growth they have shown, as well as the opportunities to meet and work with professionals in the industry makes VADA a training facility worthy of consideration

Sept 2014 VADA Studios is a truly amazing place. I am currently in the DAP (the full time program), and I am loving it. I researched many acting schools before coming here, because I really wanted to find a welcoming, art-driven, focused school; and I have to say, I have definitely found it here! Everyone, from the staff to the students, are really awesome people. I feel more welcomed here than I have ever felt. The nicest thing about VADA is, to me, how safe an environment it is. There are no judgements, and everyone has each others’ backs. When I walk in the building each morning, everyone is smiling and genuinely happy; which is a great thing to see each morning! I came from Ontario, some of my classmates came from other countries, and we can all agree that it was a really great decision. What a wonderful place.
